Hi all thanks for all the great info in your posts. We have recently purchased a new 05 Journey 32T that we will be fulltiming in. We moved up from a truck camper that we have been fulltiming in for the last year and a half. I have completed the install after purchasing the solar setup from Amsolar in Eugene Or. It took me about 2 days. Their kit had everthing I needed to install the complete system without one trip to the hardware store. I bought 4 100 watt panels, a 30 amp Heliotrope controller with the remote face and all the necessary pieces parts.

I mounted the panels using their rocker style mounts (tilts in 2 directions) with the 3M VHB tape and rivits. I chose to run them down the middle to keep the sides of the rv as low profile as possible. The contoller and circut protection were mounted in the electronics bay. The monitor was mounted on the side of the bed base. Here are some pictures.

Thanks
Jim

Jim,

Congratulations on the new rig and the choice of AM Solar gear.

After searching for solar that we wanted to represent a friend suggested that we meet with Greg and Debra Holder, owners of AM Solar/Heliotrope to review things with them.

Without a doubt Greg provides THE class act when it comes to solar. As I'm sure you know you have the 44 cell panels that are available no where else in the market. Their performance is simply excellent and with 3 panels you will be able to really enjoy boondocking without any concerns for DC power (as long as you stay in fairly clear skies).

Congratulations agian and if we can be of any assistance to you, feel free to contact us.

Mike & Lisa

Thanks Mike, we actually bought 4 panels and are aware of the 44 cell technology. Thats what made the decision for me. Who else has custom panels made for them.

I forgot to mention that I have the 3 group 31 batteries installed in our coach and was concerned because they never went off of a bulk charge. I called Interstate Battery (after reading many posts) and asked them about the batteries, their reply was to "have them replaced immediately on warranty". I am scheduled for the replacement next Monday. It took a bit of coordination between the dealer in Troutville Or and Interstate Battery but hopefully it will work out.

Thanks for your input

Jim
