KWIKI Jack Replacement

Good Day All,

I'm replacing a rear Kwiki jack on my 2005 Winnebago Itasca Sunrise and can somebody tell me where the hydraulic fluid reservoir is before we get started?

Also what kind of jack fluid or jack oil is recommended? I'm hearing you can use transmission fluid?

Thanks in advance and any information or tips on this job would be highly appreciated.

Take Care and Safe Travels this Summer.

Kwikee , a division of Power gear , now owned by Lippert ( LCI ) .

If you don't have a manual the LCI site has them as free pdf downloads ; to confirm fluid type; or you can look for them at this site .

www.myrvworks.com/manuals/

Most times the fluid reservoir is attached to the pump and distribution manifold .
Have you located the pump ?

Operating the jacks will give away the location of the pump and reservoir. Another person outside can listen for the pump and narrow down where it is. I'd bet money it's in front behind the flip up/down hood. This is where the pump/reservoir is located on my 03 Itasca.

If it is the Kwikee 3000 system, then it probably uses Dexron 3 transmission fluid. Try to find a manual to make sure. The reservoir has a cap with a dipstick on it so checking the level is easy..

On changing the jacks, I used a sharpened pencil to plug the lines while the jack was removed. Didn't lose but a tiny bit of fluid.

Take a look at the Parts Catalog for your coach under CHASSIS GROUP / HYDRAULIC LEVELING to see the location of the system. (It looks like it's behind the driver's front wheel, btw.)
