Location of vacuum pump

Once again, I'm trying to locate the vacuum pump that operates the dash heater in line valve. In this pic, is it either the round ball looking thing at the top left of pic or the small round thing at the bottom right of pic with a hose coming out of it vertically?

My issue is when I need heat or air I have to go outside and zip tie the valve in one position or the other. I've replaced the dash control unit.Click image for larger version

I think if you follow the line out of that black ball (vacuum chamber) you will find your pump location. I had a dash air problem on my first coach. A small link hose had rotted off.

Hey Barry,
Yes, the "ball" is a vacuum chamber. It's soul job is to STORE vacuum so it can be supplied at times when the vacuum pump cannot put out what's needed for various operations. As to your actual vacuum pump, yes, it's not a very big item in the front of our coaches. If you have the CEO turn the ignition key on while you're standing in front, you'll instantly verify just which component is your pump. Normally, it's a small little unit with one or two wires leading to it and of course, at least one hose emanating from it.

Hey Barry,
Roger that. IF we get maybe a chance, we'll take an m/c ride down to Yuma and maybe meet up for a beer/coke etc.

Following the rubber hose ( yellow arrow ) should lead you to the vacuum pump .
But if your issue is only dash heat temp ( assuming vacuum coolant flow valve ) and the system inside cycles from defrost to , vent and floor . Vacuum supply is not the problem .

If it is like my 2000 Workhorse 7.4 L, you will find that the vacuum supplied to the ball comes from the manifold vacuum. There is no "vacuum pump".

On a diesel like the OP's Journey there is no 'manifold vacuum', hence the need for a vacuum pump for the HVAC controls.
