Thanks kayak70 for a very honest answer and I was always thinking the same. You just wrote it for me. We just put together and order for a new 2019, Navion 24J. MSRP price 151089, Other than body paint, loaded, Top must have options are, Diesel Generator , solar power, Stabilizing jacks and Aluminum wheels. Out the door price 110K. I still have time to beat them down a bit. Lol. For that kind of money, the Generator and options cost me about and extra 50 bucks month. Free to roam. No hassles from past experiences. Easy to drive, easy to boondock and great mileage. Things from past RVing bogged me down. Should get in late July still plenty of time to rv in the northeast even though I will use it as second car. Not sure on exterior color, Cool Gray or Carbon Red. Both nice. Brochure shows always the nicest color first which is Cool gray. Marketing technique.

I use my RV at fairgrounds, dog shows, and because of uncertain power I usually have to run the generator at least a couple of hours a day. LP generators are much quieter but because of size have to be filled more often. Gas is easy to find but gas/diesel generators are noisy suckers and don't forget you need a vent kit if you're going to run it around other rigs or you'll choke everyone around you with fumes. I recommend gasoline/propane, especially if you live in an urban area where you can't get your rig into the local parking lot to get propane. When you're on the road and see signs that say "propane here" it's almost a guarantee that the one person trained to pump it is on break/lunch or called in sick that day.
Very cold conditions are not a problem where I go so I don't know about operating an LP generator under those conditions but makes sense it would be a problem.

Diesel is much more efficient and will out last a propane generator by many years. You can also transfer fuel in can with diesel.
