The main door handle (outside) will not open the door. The handle can be pulled to the Open position, but will not release the latch. Works ok from the inside handle. Must go in the Driver's door (glad I have one!). Have tried adjusting the striker pin in the door frame (with hex head) to various positions, but no luck. Loosened the screws that hold the rotating latch mechanism (in the door) but could not see how any movement would improve the situation, so left it as is. Cannot see any way to remove or access the door handle mechanism inside the door. Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my 2004 Journey and the dealer said that a tab inside the latch assembly had bent not allowing the outside handle to contact it. He said the tab was supposed to bent at 90 degrees and it was about 45. The outside handle would work once in a while. Have had no trouble after it was fixed last May.

Thx Terry. Do you know if the dealer replaced the entire latch assembly, or re-bent the tab?

I have experienced this problem with my door on my Adventurer. I went through the trial and error method and found that it really only took a slight adjustment to nut on the outside edge of the door. Just about the plunger that protrudes from the outside edge of door, there is a round plastic plug that you can pry out with knife, then you can see a adjustment nut, possibly a 3/8" and either tighten or loosen until door works good. I also sprayed WD-40 inside lock through the same hole. Has worked good ever since. This was very frustrating not being able to get in. Luckily I had a driver's door to get it with. I hope this will be of help!
