Gloria002,
Nothing is impossible if you got the cash. If removing the love seat and building a new cabinet is a project your DH does not want to do there are several companies that will do exactly what you need. I had an overhead 26" heavy CRT TV in a head knocker cabinet. I found a perfect fit 32" LCD that would replace the 26" CRT in the current cabinet. But, this still did nothing for reducing the length of the overhead cabinet. I called Classic Coach Works in Florida and asked what cost I would be looking at if they redid the overhead cabinet and a new 32" LCD. A ball park figure was $4000.00 for the complete renovation You are looking at $125.00 per hour for cabinet maker time to design, build and stain the unit plus installation cost to remove old and install new plus fixing ceiling, trim and what else to make it look professional. My solution was easy, I bought the 32" LCD for around $500 that fit my existing cabinet and watch my step as I enter the motohome like I currently do.

Good luck with your project.

Everything Buck62 said, plus you will need to move and reroute all your audio/video connections, and run some electrical power to the area. Then, you will need to figure out how to reconnect everything, and still get all options to the rear TV.

On the other hand, putting it where the old one was is much simpler. See my install at: nhutch533's photosets on Flickr .

Best of luck, whatever you choose...and post some pictures!

Welcome! If you or your husband have any questions, just post here or send me a PM and I'll be glad to advise.

The hardest thing was finding a 32" that was narrow enough to fit...actually the one I settled on did not fit inside - I could not find one, so I got the narrowest one I could. It actually extends a couple of inches in front. But I didn't want to down-sze to a 26".

I am almost finished with installation of lift in cabinet (12" deep) behind passenger seat - ahead of kitchen - and under window in 05 Meridian 36'. Lift is from Nexus 21 and seems to work well. Now waiting for Counter top material to match kitchen to arrive. Front TV was removed and new 1 piece front panel for both front TV side cabinets and new matching center cabinet (using door identical to side cabinet over driver side window) is installed up front. Also built trays and recesses for new front and side day and night roll up MCD shades to be installed soon. Not easy, Not fun, but right for us. Hope to finish and post fotos soon.
