Navion/ View Backup Camera Installation

Looks like the cable that connects the camera to the monitor was installed at the factory, at least in this Navion.
Installing a Backup Camera in a 2006 Itasca Navion

I will check my 2007 Winnebago View when I my camera arrives.

2007 Winnebago View Back-Up Camera Install

Though it is supposed to be there I could not find the factory installed back-up camera cable at the rear of my 2007 View. I even used a small borescope type camera and though I easily saw all the running light's wiring and could read the numbers on them I saw no camera cable on the driver's side, center or on the passenger side.

I did find the front end of the cable under the Head Liner in the Sprinter's cab. Also found power wires up there that must of been left there for a camera install. There was three wires terminated in a white connector (two yellows and one white). Only one yellow energized with +12vdc when I turned on the ignition switch so I used it and the White wire (GND).

I posted my install at the View-Navion Tech. Yahoo Group:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/...messages/37849

and here:

If I knew then what I know now I would have pulled off some of the upper trim to look for the wire. I still don't believe it is in there as we spent several hours and came up with nothing.

From the looks of the attachment clips for the trim you just slide the trim along the back of the motor home to get it off. The clip on the trim is secured to the bottom lip on the trim with double sided tape. The securing clip screwed to the back of the motor home has a spring steel hook that the trim's clip slides under.

Of course this is only possible once the caulking on the top is removed.

Live and Learn I guess!!
