New Member needs information Headed for Cal

We are the new owners of a Winnebago View just move from a Newmar Mountain Aire. We need some information before heading out on our adventure to Cal from Iowa. The View is a 2008 with 10K on it what problems with the Mercedies might crop up. I like to be prepared with preventative matinance. I have read about two of the more common things that might be a problem turbo hoses and no start conditions. Information along thiese lines would be welcome.

Hi zoote2, welcome to IRV2. I am not familiar with any problems with the View, but you can get alot more info on the Winnebago section further down the page. Hope you enjoy your trip and safe travels.

Although you probably won't have any problems, I would find service centers on your route, just to be prepared.

I believe the Mercedes is a good engine and is serviced and imported by one of the USA's popular Diesel builders. It is a mechanical device and can break at very unhandy times. My Mercedes blew it's turbo charger at 13,000 miles while still under warranty. Did not cost me anything but it required several days to order in the parts and to schedule the mechanics time!
I would have the recomended maintainence items completed and go out and enjoy!
