No 12v or 110 unless hooked up

I have a 1988 winnebago 33ru cheiftain. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to start to track down the promblem. When I am plugged in everything works. But when I am not plugged into 30amp I have nothing. When I turn on my ignition but dont start the engine and have my battery switch on aux i have 12v. I started my gennerator and I didnt even have 110 then. Any ideas

Based on the year of your vehicle you should have to plug/unplug a different cord to switch between shore and gen power. Look in gen compartment and see if you have a metal junction box that has one cord plugged in and another unplugged. Switch those plugs and start gen. Should have power on gen.
Newer models have auto transfer switches that do automatically so you only have one cord. You can retrofit one into your rig.
As far as the no power when not on shore and not on gen power sounds like coach battery is not charged or not there( you should have at least 2 batteries.) One for engine and at least one for coach power. Do you? If yes then if could be as simple as a fuse or circuit breaker

Yep.. in the compartment housing the cord, look for a 30 outlet.. that is your Generator.

Look and see if you have a switch in the stairwell.. make sure its ON. It controls the 12v.
