There is a screetching noise coming from the rear of the livingroom slide only when extending. There is also a rust mark that has a rub mark on the metal rail about a foot long under the slide. The rust mark is sticky. When retracting all seems normal. Any suggestions???

With the slide extended, if you look carefully you will likely find a wire bundle or hose that is making the rub mark when the slide moves in and out. My slide has a couple of rub marks on top or side from wire bundles, but I don't think they make any noise in our case. We do sometimes get some screetching noise from the rear of our lounge slide which I blame on the tile floor, and possibly dirt, etc between the floor and the slide glides ...the rear area of our slide run over ceramic tile while the front area run over carpet.

A couple of months back a glass jar broke when falling on our ceramic tile. Some pieces of glass apparently landed under the refrigerator on our front slide. The slide made screeching noises when extending until we were able to fish out the glass pieces with a wire hanger and cloth.
