Has anyone else had a problem with the outside air temperature gauge? The compass is still working but the temp. gauge is not. Any suggestions?

Gary,

Look around behind the front grill. You will find a small temp sensor - it is about 2" overall with a small piece sticking out that is about 3/16" in dia by about 3/4" long. Ithas a wire going back to the display unit. Check to see if it is someplace where it can register the outside temp or is even there. That is where I would start looking first.

That wire is a plug-on connection. Check to see if it fell off and is dangling. Also check the back of the gauge to see that it's plugged in.

Well, I took a look behind the grill and found the sensor and followed the wire to the connector. Every thing looked ok. I pushed and pulled on the connector and the wires and now it's working. Must be a poor connection or loose wire in the connector. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tips.

Our temp. reads 128 degrees almost all the time. And yes the compass still works.
We unplugged the sensor, got a different reading. Plugged it back in and the old reading came back.
Suggestion was made to replace the whole unit for more than $100.
Went to Lowes, got a indoor-outdoor thermometer and put it on the dash close to where the old unit is. Since it also shows the inside temperature we can see if it really is so hot inside or if we are just imagening!!! Works great!!!!
