Park brake hydraulic jack problems

We have a 2001 Winnebago Journey 32t which has just been to Allison for a Transmission harness no 5th gear problem. On the 170 mile trip home the jacks down/slide out alarm began to sound while the Trans worked fine. Once home the jack display tells me the parking brake is not set but works ok. Allison warned us that we might have future harness issues and suggested replacement of the Freightliner chassis harnesses!. Also as the trip progressed both 12 volt personal fans as well as the temperature direction gauge indicator on the dash failed. Our local Freightliner repair shop would rather not work on an RV. Any ideas comments? If I had any hair, I'd be pulling it out..

Welcome to iRV2 .
Sorry your first post is about problems .
During the course of the repair did the Allison shop mention rodent damage , or give any reason for the wiring failure? Or why they said the chassis harness could be trouble?

I'd say given the extent of you current problems , a visit to the Winnebago site for wiring diagrams for your coach is in order .

Wiring Diagrams

As well as a call to the Freightliner free help line with your chassis serial number. Ask for wiring diagrams AND schematics ; there is a difference and you'll need both.

Could you please add , engine and transmission info to your post .

Cat ? 3126B ? Cummins ? 5.9 ISB ? Allison 3000 /3060 series ?

And could you add more info on " temperature direction gauge indicator " ?
I really don't understand what you're trying to describe .

Thanks for the reply Skip,
Our 2001 Winnebago has a 275 hp 5.9 isb Cummins and a 2000MH Allison transmission. The Allison shop found broken wires (3) in the plug connecting the Freightliner harness to the transmission TCM harness. The wires weren't completely severed causing at first an intermittent loss of 5th gear and then enough codes to put the transmission in a "safe" mode. The recommendation to change the harnesses was verbal and a full page disclaimer included with the repair summary. The repair took over 2 days and Allison kindly "lost" 3 or 4 hours when preparing the final bill. The outside temperature and direction gauge is not related to the drive train and is an accessory as are the two personal fans..I will be looking for a fuse or lose wire under the dash and researching the information you provided. Best regards, Robin
