I'm considering permanently attaching the rear ladder extension, has anyone else done this? What are the Pros/Cons, am I missing something.
On my coach it won't interfere with access to the engine compartment so I don't see a problem. I'm not sure why the bottom part of the ladder is detachable anyway, any ideas? Thanks, Jim

The lower section of ladder on my Journey is attached. There is one bolt through the bottom of the ladder.

I also wondered why the lower section was removable...guess it would keep kids or others from trying to climb on your coach.

That's the exact reason it is detachable.
To keep anyone from climbing on the coach and you having a liability issue. Good Miles

I took my extension out of the RV and left it home. Most of us carry some sort of ladder and I use that if needed. Got to keep the weight down with these gas prices.

I hung mine upside down as high up on the ladder as I could reach. Secured it with bungee cords. Easier than dragging the ladder out for a quick trip to the roof. If someone 6' wants to climb on my roof he better hold on!
