Poor radio reception in 2013 Sightseer 33C

Wanted to let everyone know the fix for our very poor radio reception with our Jensen radio. The problem was a loose 'extension' between the rubber antenna and the antenna base mounted on the roof. This 'extension' is a 1.5 inch long, black rubber piece that mounts between the base and the antenna. It had a small rubber 'O' ring between it and the antenna that was deteriorated and fell apart when I removed the piece. This piece threads onto the antenna base stud and has a stud inside that is supposed to tighten down against the base stud and extend through the piece long enough to thread into the rubber antenna. This interior stud is too short to completely tighten the antenna to the base. I removed this extension, threaded the antenna directly to the base stud and, wow great reception on both AM and FM bands.
Looking on-line for rubber AM/FM antennas, I believe this piece is intended to use different sized internal studs to match various base thread sizes to antenna thread sizes. In my case the thread sizes on both the base and the antenna match so no need for the extension.
Hope this helps someone who is experiencing lousy radio reception in their coach.
Thanks to those who suggested that a antenna connection was probably the culprit. Lucky me found the antenna loose and I didn't have to disassemble the dash to get at the back of the radio.
