As long as we are sitting here in Sioux Falls waiting for our parts...Chad decided to do a couple of maintenace things. One of the dinette drawers keeps opening while on the road and then the basket with the kids games comes sliding out. So Chad was going to tighten the screws and he discovered that the hinges on the bottom of the drawers were not screwed into actual wood...just the paneling. No wonder they were coming loose. So he got some mollies and now they are nice and tight again. Seems strange that they wouldn't make sure the hinges were secured to something that would support the drawer with normal use.

The other thing is that he wanted to take the a/c air return covers/vents off the ceiling and wash them(they are getting dusty). But the screws are stripped on both a/c vents !! When we get home he is going to get new screws for them.

All these little things we notice over time...

Hi Shannone

The only thing I have been disappointed with our Sightseer is the quality of finish--loose or missing screws, stripped theads etc.

I think that part of the problem may be in their use of the thin materials used to save weight, which means that there is nothing for the screw to grab hold of.

I have the same problem with one of my under-dinette-drawers coming open. I keep meaning to see if I can squeeze the part closed a little tighter with a pair of pliers, but it's the kind of thing that I only think about when it flies open going down a windy road.

Now go to bed and relax! It's late! And things will look better in the new light of another day.

Keep in mind how much better this is than tent camping or staying in hotels, even if little things start to annoy.

Hope you get your parts soon and get back on the road trouble-free.

Good thing your DH is handy with tools! You'll find more as you go along.

We just got our new baby home. And..of course, there are the sharp corners here and there to file down, bent/broken this/that...doors opening while sitting still. Minor really.

Blowing a hydraulic line to jacks/slides? Major! We're glad it happened on the way home from the dealer!
