Propane Issue - Cooktop and water heater won't light

Cross posted - figured I should post this in the Winnebago group as well:

I have a 2019 Winnebago Navion 24D with a propane furnace, 2 burner cooktop and Truma tankless water heater.

My furnace is working fine on gas - I can hear the regulator click on and off when I use the remote switch.

My Onan LP Generator is also working fine, so I know I have propane and that it's flowing.

My cooktop and my hot water will not light. I've tried bleeding air out of the cooktop (turning it on for 10 seconds while attempting to light it, turning it off and waiting, trying again) but I don't even hear any gas flowing.

My Truma cycles off after about 10 seconds and gives an error code - everything I've found online states that it's a lack of propane issue.

I've crawled around underneath and looked behind cabinets. trying to see if there's some valve that controls the HW and Cooktop, but I'm stumped.

Any thoughts on why 1 device would work but not the other 2?

I'm stumped.

First question is: have these two appliances ever worked since you’ve owned it?

I just bought this from a private party in January and I'm getting it ready for the season. Finally got around to checking the water system this week and found the hot water not working (no gas). Went to bleed the system of air and found the range also not working.

Sent a note to the prior owner but never heard back, so I'm a little in the dark.

Next step today is to slightly crack the nut at the cook top and see if I get any pressure out of it from the LP (Carefully of course). I found a replacement cooktop for less money than the actual parts that I suspect, so I'm just going to swap it out.

Going to call Truma today when they open and see if they think the regulator on the WH might be bad.

Ok. That’s very helpful.
The Truma I could possibly imagine could have internal issues not allowing it to start. But a stovetop is the dumbest simplest propane device known to man.
Only thing that makes any sense is some sort of debris from a bad tank, pipe or hose, somehow clogged the jets.
I’d buy a propane handheld leak detector to see if there is any gas coming out. And use it once you put everything back together for a final safety check.

Do you have a hose bib for an external BBQ?
You could verify that as well.

I had a crushed hose in my new rig. Made the external bbq just barely light. Winnebago fixed it.

One more task would be to follow the metal pipes and hoses from the tank and make sure there wasn’t some accident that got worked around by bypassing those appliances.

Good luck.

Well, everything is fixed. After speaking with Truma , I found that I had an error 25 on the hot water heater. It turned out some of those stupid bugs had gotten in there and built a nest and they were blocking the fan from turning on. As far as the cooktop goes, chalk that one up to my stupidity, I wasn’t pushing down on the gas knob to start it, I was only turning it. So it turns out that there was nothing wrong with the cooktop, but it led me down a different path thinking two devices had a problem.

Perfect!
I’m glad you figured it all out and the solutions were simple enough.
And thanks for sharing your solution!
Enjoy your new rig!

Our first rig was a 2007 24D. We still miss old Harvey. RIP.
