Question Radio Power Switch

My 2006 Voyage has a switch on the dash to allow us to use the radio when parked without putting the key in and turning to the accessory position.

Has anyone picked a lead off of that switch and used it for another accessory (i.e. front camera or gps) that you might want keyed?

Should this idea work? I'm not sure I can see a reason why not, but it is prudent to ask.

Many thanks,

Don

I don't see why it couldn't be done. Not sure why the camera or GPS be needed if you are parked though. Most coaches also have 12v cigarette lighters that do not use the engine battery.

The (+) at the switch is from the house batteries, so it wouldn't be connected through the ignition key. The chassis (+) is connected between the ignition and the radio. There are lots of other ignition controlled (+) available under the dashboard.
