Rear cap bracing on 2004 Adventurer 33V

I was under our RV today working on the basement AC and when I was looking up working on the ductwork, I saw an aluminum frame/brace? behind the fiberglass rear cap. It was loose. I'm wondering if it is just there for bracing?

I'm thinking I'll clean it and secure it back to the cap with some JB weld epoxy? Or have you guys done this and had a better way?

Thanks.

I gotta look at ours first. Not sure what you’re looking at.

Dave, to the best I can see is that it’s some type of adhesive’s holding it together that was used during production. If you can somehow clamp or wedge something to make for good contact til the adhesive dries it should work. Clean it good first.
You’re gonna have to be pretty thin to get up there!!!! Or have some handy youngin’s.
Good luck!!

i forgot about updating this post.

I just want to say that Winnebago customer service is really great. I called and asked if they had a schematic of the back of the rear cap -- my parts list showed the outside of the rear cap but not the inside where the inner bracing is. The Winnebago rep emailed me a PDF file of the back of cap while I was on the phone with him and them went over it with me on the phone. He confirmed that the aluminum that I see is simply bracing for the fiberglass cap itself. He said that it was originally held on with fiberglass resin so he said to just clean it up as best I could and then apply a generous coating of epoxy to it.

So, when it cools off a little here in the desert, I'll be doing that next.
