Repairing RV cellular shades

Any tips for restringing cellular pull down shades for my 2016 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 22R? Is it that difficult? I have spotted a restringing kit on Amazon and have watched a couple of Youtube videos. I've called around a couple of places and nobody seems to want to take on the job.

SantinoDad-

I found:

1) the harder job is to remove the shades from the valences, and
2) it's better to make the new strings a bit longer than recommended

Here is a nice written restringinging guide, from the www.unitedshade.com Web site.

Also, you should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.

Over the many years I restrung the shades with mixed results.

This last time in 2018, I threw out string blinds and bought new "String less Buttonless" Blackout Cordless Cellular Shades from Home Depot. We love them! With one finger we can raise them, or two fingers lower them. The only draw back is one of the cats has learned he can push the shade up several inches at night so he can look outside!

Looks like I replaced 5 shades for approximately $300 back then.
