Replaced basement air with new unit - old unit available
I replaced my 6535-871 with a new 46515-811 basement air unit. It was a very straightforward swap. I can't wait for the hot weather to give it a thorough testing. Initial testing indicates improved performance.

I think my #2 compressor is bad. I still have some trouble-shooting to do but I'm considering a new unit rather than going down the bit-by-bit repair rabbit hole (my fan is also noisy). I'm happy to hear that it was a straight-forward job.

I researched the change a couple of yrs. ago, and am
happy it was pretty much straight forward.
Could you report where the unit was purchased and
maybe the final cost.
My basement unit has operated flawless for 17 yrs.
I did have trouble with the thermostat early on as
(intermittent) if would not pick up the second compressor.
Changed the stat and all is still well......coopcolt

It was very straightforward. One thing to consider is that R22 refrigerant will not be manufactured after next year making service more expensive. There were 2 wires (white w/blk strip and orange w/blk stripe) that were not used on the new board.

I purchased from a local RV dealer. Cost was around $2900. I could have saved 200-300 by ordering from Amazon but decided that it was easier letting the dealer handle the shipping logistics.

I paid $2600 thru Amazon , they brought it to the middle of nowhere in Nevada and set it right next to the MH with a liftgate.

How did you dispose of your old unit?

I have a question regarding the connection to the new unit. Where did you connect the white/black and orange/black wires to the new unit? I did not connect them back but my unit works normally. I read somewhere that they have something to do with the load shedder. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Thanks, Craig

Basement AC
I have a 2009 Winnebago Vectra (40WD) with basement air. The model number is 6538-751. From what I can find and have been told there is no replacement for it. But I did see a coleman document that showed a newer model number 46516-811. I see the model number you purchased and installed is a 46515-811. What, if any, is the difference between between the two?

I'm sorry but I don't know anything about that model number.

Thanks anyway. I was able to speak to an AIRXCEL technical rep late yesterday. He said the difference between the two models (46515-811 and 46516-811) is the location of the cold air return. I was hoping I'd be able to use the 46515-811 but unfortunately it won't work in my MH. Thanks again.
