Replacing hydraulic hose on room slide

2003 Winnebago journey.
Forward hydraulic cylinder hose to ram/room end is broken and leaking at the cap end of cylinder.

Room is currently in travel position (closed) but I need to know how to access the hose port that is not visible in this position. Again this would be the hose that runs down the length of the cylinder. toward the ram end. Not the end at the cap which can be seen in passenger side front storage compartment.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

I had one replaced in a 2001 Chieftain . I brought it to Moscow Iowa ( HWH factory ). They may be able to point you in the right direction.

AZPETE is a member this site and he is very knowledgeable about HWH systems and he may have a suggestion.

Yep,
Used, well, actually asked, AZPETE for assistance in my issue with my bedroom slide master ram. He's outstanding in terms of what's what and how things work. As soon as I get a chance, I'm taking him and his wife to dinner for all the help he provided. We don't live all that far apart.

Ed, just had that same hose burst on my 2004 Chieftain. I thought I could replace it myself until I found that the other end of the bad hose was not easily accessible. Talked to Azpete and found out he owned a 2003 Chieftain that had this very same hose burst on his coach. He gave me part number of a upgrade kit that uses steel line and not rubber hose from HWH.

I took my coach to Redlands Truck & RV and cost me 1.5 days labor and $230 for the hose kit. The slide has to be pulled mostly out to access the street side of cylinder to remove the cylinder. Azpete will know the kit p/n for your coach. His cell is 602-549-3638.

Good luck,
Bill
