Reseal kitchen sink in 05 Sightseer

My Sightseer has a double sink mounted below the counter top. There is some kind of tape between the edge of the counter and the sink, and it is pulling away from the counter. I tried to put silicone adhesive on it and recaulked and generally made a complete mess. I'd like to just remove the tape and everything and replace, but I can't figure out what the tape is. Anyone have any advice?

Hi
Go to an Ace hardware store and ask their advice they may well have a tape seal product you can use. Not sure why the manufacture chose that method if the gap isn't too large around the sink removing the tape cleaning the surface and using a good quality tub calk would take care of it. Look online as well to see what tape seals are available, I'm sure RV manufactures don't have a monopoly on these things. You could also ask a Plumber what he would recommend.
Good Luck hope this helps
