Short ??

I have an interesting problem that has just developed with my outside porch light. Using the paddle switch, just inside the door of my MH, when I turn on the light, after about 6 - 7 seconds it pops the 12 volt breaker. If I have the two interior lights on, they go dim as they are on the same circuit. Also the porch light is dim. When I use the remote door opener to unlock the front door, the porch light comes on as normal with no popping of the breaker and the light is as bright as ever and automatically goes off after the normal time delay. I am assuming that I have a short somewhere. So far, I have used a known good paddle switch to replace the one on the circuit and had the same results (eliminates the switch being bad), I have also taken the porch light out of the circuit (removed the bulb) and the breaker still pops. Anyone know of any easy way to trace the circuits so I might find the short and it appears to be just on the circuit the switch is on as the circuit for the door opener operates as normal and does not pop the breaker ----- very very puzzling.

Can you run a temporary wire from the switch to the light (without the original wire being connected )...

That should be the final test to determine that it is indeed a short in the orignal hot wire
