Side Mirrors

When going down the highway the glass in my side mirrors shake. They shake so bad it’s hard to see what’s going on behind me at times. How would I tighten them up? Is there any adjustment points for these?

Is it the whole assembly? If so, I had the same thing and I removed the hold down screws one of which was broken and replaced them with stainless, slightly bigger and coated with silicon.

What I used

I don't know brand of mirrors you have but I ordered these direct from Velvac for my mirrors.
They worked. Little spring clips. Could not find another supplier. I started a thread back on 4/27/17.

Dampening Clips (spring fingers) Installation Instructions Velvac part # T709614 (4pack-to do one mirror)

Something that makes a big difference but few people know about is aligning the mirror housing.

When your mirrors are adjusted for you to see properly, does the mirror stick out past the mirror housing? If so, the housing needs to be adjusted. It is usually just a set screw on the bottom of the housing. Loosen it, move the housing (the mirrors will move too) and readjust the mirrors. You might have to do this a couple times to get it right but it makes a big difference - the wind hitting the mirrors make them shake.

Might want to get your tires checked/balanced before you start chasing mirror issues. Since both mirrors are vibrating /shaking, it sounds like a front wheel balance issue.
