Side View Mirrors

When I am making a turn I prefer to see who is coming up on my rear end rather than a rather useless side view in my opinion...Anyone know of a way to deactivate the side view cameras and yet leave the rear view intact? Thanks. Bob

Most of the camera systems have trigger wires to activate the desired camera. For example your side view camera trigger is probably connected to your turn signal function . If you can locate that connection and remove it, you will defeat the function. If your monitor has a split screen, and if it has a menu, you can disconnect all the camera trigger wires and use the split screen function to select which views you want displayed (or not) simultaneously.
That is what I did on my aftermarket system. The process will vary depending on the camera system manufacturer.

If you check under the dash you will see 3 video cables wired into a switch box. Right camera, left camera and rear camera. Then you have 2 RCA cables coming out and going to the monitor - Yellow is video and Red is audio. You can try unplugging the right and left cables and try it out. If the monito goes blank when turn signal is activated you will have to reset the switch, if you can.

Hope this helps - Richard

MW22r, you have to remove the left and right side camera trigger wire from the camera switching box. Removing the video cables will give you a blank screen when you turn on the turn signal.
I removed my a long time ago. I like to see my toad when exiting the freeway and also like to see the GPS when I'm setting at a stop light with the turn signal on.

Thanks guys for the responses. Looks complicated but it would be worth the effort. GRT....is that schematic specific for my RV or do most manufacturers use the same box? Not sure why they thought these mirror cams were a good idea? I must be missing something in my thinking....bob

MW22r, the drawing for your coach shows the Winnebago part number as 180731-09-000 and Riverparks CVS125-01. Riverparks does not show that part. The drawing I posted is what's in my coach Winnebago 180731-05-000 Riverparks CVS300-01.
All of the Riverparks video switches look about the same and the pin function is shown by the connector on the unit.
I must be missing something also, it's was hard to use the GPS because it would switch to the camera when the turn signal was on.
Here is the link to your drawing: https://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/2018/000038142.pdf
