Sightseer Motorhome Battery Question

I have a 2006 Winnebago Sightseer 26P and am wondering if anyone out there has relocated their Chassis Battery, which is next to the two (2) 12v house batteries and then tried to place four (4) 6v batteries in the battery box?
I am contemplating moving the Chassis Battery up to the front of the RV and put it in a battery box, then I would like to add four (4) Trogan T-145's 6v to the battery box. By all my measurement they should fit! They measure:
10 3/8 x 7 1/8 x 11 1/2. The battery box measures 24" x 14" but I measured the Trogan battery and it is just under 7" at the base and 7 1/8" at the top?
I would like to hear from someone who has four (4) 6v batteries housed in this Winnebago battery box. Thanks

Although I have not accomplished this mod, you can locate the chassis battery anywhere it might fit. All you need are longer cables. No 2 OEMs will locate their automotive battery in exactly the same location.

We have a 2004 Sightseer 27C. We put two 6volt golf cart batteries next to the chassis battery (under the steps) and went into the storage compartment left of the door, divided it into two parts and installed four more 6volt g.c. batteries and a Xantrex 2000 watt inverter/charger.

Works very fine. We vented the battery side portion of the compartment so no gasses would accumulate and sealed it off from the inverter side of the compartment.

Sorry, to inept to send a photo.......

I am looking at this alternative also. I am wondering if, in the process of deciding where to put extra batteries, you tried to get the batteries in the bay side by side using the width of the bay instead of placing them in the bay like the 12v? If you did, did they fit? By the way you may be smarter than me since it is likely more expensive to have the Chassis battery moved than to add house batteries to the bay area like you did. Thanks for you input.

Kammy:

We bought a slide-out tray from Kwikee that holds the four 6v batteries. Two in back and two in front. Easy to check water. Don't recall if we reinforced the floor of the compartment. Probably, as the tray needs a good mounting surface.

I will assume our storage bays are about the same dimensions.
