Slide screw carrier and acme Nut Question

Working on replacement of a broken acme nut on a kwikee digi sync slide. Do the rivets on the side pucks have to be removed or can you just pull the screw carrier out after unhooking the motor from the screw. Any help would be appreciated.

You can pull the screw out but you're going to need to pull the two bolts that hold the carrier in place to replace the new one.

Here is a well-written old thread re the Kwikee slide mechanism, just in case you don't already have it. I saved it ..... for the day i have trouble with mine. Good luck with the repair.
