HI all got a question for you all putting a solar panel on our 04 sightseer. The instructions say to put 3/4" between mounting surface and panel. What are you using wood or metal blocks, and what are you using to hold the blocks to the fiberglass roof, screws, or some type of polyether sealant? Any help would be greatful.

teeman, if your panel has mounting feet that should be the sufficient distance you are talking about. My mounting feet probably raise the panels about an inch.

Someday I would like to add more than the 2 I have and use the rollout adhesive ones. I've seen them in use in other operations and I was impressed. More wattage for the price.

Use #10 or #12 stainless screws with Dicor self-leveling sealant between the mounting tabs/ears/feet/bracket and the roof. Then use Dicor on top of the screws and mounting tabs.

If you can hit a roof rib, all the better but it's not absolutely necessary. The Dicor provides plenty of adhesion
