Squeaky Entrance door

Hi Guys:

Just got back from a 600 mile RV trip. Sometimes my Entrance door squeaks so bad driving down the road it drives me nuts. I tried shutting it harder, put the locks on, and so on.

Is there any tricks that I am missing that could some how make the squeaking go away or tighten it up some how?

Regards... Jim P.

Try the o'l black electrical tape around the bolt--just a couple of turns. If it works you will have to replace it every once in a while--but it's cheap!! It is the only fix I could find that works. I put a Teflon bolt on my 2002 Journey but it finally started to squeak again and back to the tape. Good luck--John

squeaKY ENTRANCE DOOR

I sprayed WD-40 all along the door seams where the door moulding meets the oouter walls...that seemed to do it for a season..You can also spray it on the inside wall seams....RKL

My squeak was more of a road noise/wind whistle from the lower seal of the door. a 1/2inch wide self adhesive rubber foam applied along the bottom edge stopped it all.

I've stopped my squeaking when it happens by spraying & wiping down the gaskets with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Usually lasts for a few months.

Thanks Guys:

I will look at the bolt assembly and try WD-40 around the hinges.

Sure as heck can't hurt.

Regards.. Jim P

The black tape trick works so good I can't believe it.

WD40/Silicone spray helps a lot with mine but I also get something which is more of a "sqawk" from the door while driving that drives me up the wall. Somewhere on this forum are threads which I think refer to spraying an expanding foam behind the plastic door panel and if I'm not mistaken it was 3 Ts RV near Las Vegas who was doing it but.... I'm old... I forget stuff.

I spray the latch on the door with PAM cooking oil before each trip. Stops the squeaking and smells nice and buttery when entering the coach.

Hi CB:

Thanks for the link, that was very interesting. I have to check those rivets. I knew you guys would have some kind of an answer.
