Toilet flap not opening

One more issue 🙄……

When i step on the toilet (flush) pedal, the flap doesn’t open. If i push very gently with toilet brush it pops open. What could be causing this? I don’t want to rip the toilet up and cause a can of worms. Everything was working properly when we closed this last fall

Have you tried lubricant on the seal? Only use silicone.

If I recall correctly there is a plastic arm that connects the flat to the pedal & my guess is that arm has come unhooked to the pedal. or to the flat, or has broken...either way you are most likely going to have to remove the toilet to fix the problem.

It’s been a long time since I replaced an RV toilet, but if I remember correctly, it’s just a rubber seal. How well does that reseal once removed? Or do i have to replace seal to remount once removed. Weighing my options on doing it now or not

If you're talking about the rubber seal for the ball valve, I lubricate it with plumbers grease.
