Truma in Winnebago View

Hi- I have a 2019 Winnebago View 24j with a Truma on demand instant hot water heater. I dont really like the fact that it only works off of propane. Has anyone installed anything like a small electric water heaters, such as the Bosch, in front of it? Seems like a small 4 gallon electric water heater plumbed before the Truma would allow me to heat the water off of electric.

I was a bit skeptical about the amount of propane the Truma might use when we got our View in October of 2017. Have learned since it uses very very little. Teeny tiny propane usage.

We have the same motorhome. We were out 6 weeks and didn’t even use 1/2 tank of propane and that’s running heat in the morning and the Truma. I only turn it on when I need hot ester but we absolutely love it.

They install gas only water heaters to limit the amp draw of some 30 amp RVs.

With AC running and microwaving, you may not have enough amperage left to run an electric heater.

View/Navion only

I'm about to purchase a 2020 view 24j. 7944 miles. Can anyone point me to a View/navion only user group?

My ‘19 Navion has a Truma. We filled the propane before our recent 3 month, 13500 mile road trip and used the hot water several times a day for dishes and some showers. We still have a half tank of propane. The Truma unit was one of the best new gadgets to add to the Navion. Second, there is a dedicated Facebook group for Navion/View owners.
