I have a noise (not a squeak) that I describe as sounding like metal against glass occasionally on a very rough road - appears to be coming from the area of the overhead TV.

Attempted to remove the wood framing from around the TV, but could not detach it from the plastic bezel around the bottom of the set. Removed the four screws from the wood part, and it does begin to slide downward, but haven't figured out how to release it from the plastic part?

It's an '04 Meridian 36G. Any ideas?

If it is the same as my 2003 Journey, the plastic part comes out with the wood frame. You'll have to remove the six screws holding the plastic on.

Red,

Same on mine - remove the wood bezel and plastic part as a unit.

Thanks for the info......this is the best source of info on the Internet! (Now, all I have to do is figure out how to remove the 6 screws)

The little plastic caps that hide the screwheads just pop off with a small screwdriver, toothpick, etc. You should find a small indent in the outer ring that allows you to slip something under the small inner cap.

Forgot to add - cover the defroster vents before you start popping off those caps.

One more thing, there are two screws inside the overhead cabinets on each side of the TV.. Ops forgot, if you have a center speaker, pop the cover and remove the speaker The wood bezel pulls out about an inch and then the whole assembly slides down over the front of the screen.

Have fun there are lots of cables and brackets that should be tied down and tightened.

I didn't bother to remove the center speaker and the cable was plenty long to reach to the dash.

While it's all open, may I suggest sliding a piece of rubber between the bracket and the TV before re-tensioning the TV bracket. I also went to the hardware store and purchased a second set of nuts, coated them with Lock-Tite and "double nutted" the bracket.

I don't want to take it apart again! While it's simple enough it is ackward.

I also found two mounting screws under the TV that needed to be tightened. I also used aircraft self locking nuts on that bracket. Hasn't rattled or squeaked in over a year.
