TV Upgrade 1999 Brave SE

I'm in the middle of replacing the old stock tube TV with a new flat screen. Besides it being very heavy and hasn't been to bad except for one issue. There are only two connections in the back of the old unit, one is the antenna lead from the roof. The other is a small jack that I think is the Audio out to the surround sound/multiple speakers. I'm not sure if it will be compatible with the new flat screen or if the new tv will be able to power all the speakers.

Has anyone seen this or know how the sound system works.

Thanks for any help you can provide
