Water Damage

First, we absolutely are happy with our 2008 Vectra 40TD -- except for the water leak issues. We've been back to the factory several times for repairs and the folks have been very pleasant to work with. We still have a water leak somewhere around the front cap as the water enters above the driver's side window and leaks into the driver side view camera. In addition to another troublesome leak above the entry door -- seems to not enter if the door awning is partially extended.

During one of trips back to the factory, they replaced the ceiling on the street-side slideout and repaired water damage to the storage cabinets. Also had the dinette removed. There was/is water damage to the lower pantry wall that was not explored further.

The rest of the story -- stopped in Elkhart, IN for some electrical work and had the folks remove the hold seat-belt anchors (which showed evidence of rust). Unfortunately, further checking revealed the slide-out floor carpet and floor had major damage/mold.

Bottom line, we had to have the sub-floor replaced and new carpet -- went ahead and replaced all the carpet in the coach.

In closing, expensive repairs which we believe should have been discovered/repaired by the factory during previous visits. We would not trade our Vectra TD for another motorhome and, with our recent upgrades, is like a new motorhome on the inside!

I have similar areas that presented leakage problems and getting ready to repair. What have been the solutions to mold forming on the wall by the entry door and what is the picture you attach off?

Would that be the carpet that was replaced?

Picture is the street-side slideout carpet -- opted to replace all the carpet as it was dated and we wanted to see what was under the other carpet. That was the only mold that we found. I'll be posting pictures of the new carpet and flooring soon.
