I have a very small leak some where around my H/W tank. Checked all connections not there. RV Tech thinks possible pin hole in weld somewhere. Anyone had this problem before.

Homer, as I see it, the choice is not "where" the leak is, but when and what you'll do about it. Likely the tank has to be removed, then you can assess whether to repair or replace.
Is it possible that the tank had been frozen (not winterized) in the past?

Troth: Yes the unit has been winterized long before cold weather sets in every year. It just started a couple of days ago, we are parked in Florida. I assume the whole unit will have to be taken out, if I haven't overlooked some obvious problem. I just wondered if any one has had this happen and what their final fix might have been.

Homer:

I had a W/H tank spring a leak on a TT I had in the past (it was an Atwood W/H, similar to what we have in our motorhomes). It was a couple of pin holes in the tank bottom. I elected to replace the water heater. I guess it could have been welded (aluminum) but it was 8 years old at the time.

smlranger: Thanks for your response. It tells me it can apparently happen. If it holds at its present leak rate, I will have it pulled when I get back home in Ohio. RV having fun yet?
