Greetings from Winnebago Industries, Inc.!

The Winnebago View and Itasca Navion feature a new and improved Dodge Sprinter chassis that features a more powerful engine, as well as an optional gas engine in 2008.

Drivability has always been a hallmark of this innovative Class C coach since its introduction in 2006. Now, in 2008 the Dodge Sprinter chassis has been upgraded with a new, heavier gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) chassis – 11,030 lb. versus 10,200 lb. in 2007 – and a more powerful 3.0L V6 Mercedes Benz diesel engine – up from a 2.7-liter 5-cylinder diesel engine in 2007. If you prefer a gasoline powered engine, the 2008 View and Navion offer an optional 3.5L V6 gasoline powered engine. The View and Navion also feature five-speed tip shift automatic transmission that's designed to be one of the smoothest, most reliable transmissions on the market, an excellent turning radius (23.5 feet), independent front suspension, ABS four wheel disc brakes and a 3,500-lb. trailer hitch.

With the Winnebago View and Itasca Navion, it's all about choices. In addition to the two engine choices, the View and Navion also feature three, charming 24-foot floorplans. The 24B is sure to be a hit with children with bunk beds featured in the back of the coach. Additional sleeping space is also found up front with two opposing sofas that easily convert into beds, while a dining table can be placed between the sofas for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. The private bathroom sits mid-coach, and a large wardrobe is easily accessible as it sits between the bathroom and rear bed. The popular 24H and 24J feature a front slideout room for added space. The 24H features a sofa slideout with an opposing dinette, while the 24J offers a dinette slideout with an opposing galley. The 24H offers a large bath in the rear, and the 24J features a rear corner bed that easily lifts for access to a large exterior storage space – large enough to fit two adult bicycles!

SuperStructure® Construction and Precision-Engineered Thermo-Panel® Sidewalls Produce a Coach of Lasting Beauty.

Unlike some manufacturers, we use steel, not wood, to create a strong, durable cab substructure. We mount our windshields securely in steel with nonhardening sealants, just like an automobile. By using an advanced laser alignment system when mounting the cab to the chassis, we ensure a sturdy, square foundation. And we e-coat major steel components to resist rust and corrosion.

Our Thermo-Panel sidewall and roof design pressure bonds the exterior skin, luan backing and EPS block foam to the walls' aluminum framework, while our unique interlocking sidewall and roof joint design ensures that the weight is carried by the metal substructure, not by a few attaching screws (like some competitors' models). The overall result is a stronger, more durable motor home.

Approximately 8 million square feet of fiberglass is used annually in the construction of Winnebago Industries' motor homes.

It will be most interesting to see what the fuel consumption figures are for the various engine options. Today, that is a bigger issue than being big IMHO.

What happens May 14? Is that when the dealers see the new models? When will we start seeing the web site updated?

There's some more 2008 models shown at the website today. Including a class C bunk model.

2008 Adventurer is up. I just took a quick glance, nothing new in the florplans that I could see.
