Will Aquahot work on Electric with a bad float switch

I have a Aquahot 400D and the dealer has ordered a new float switch but they are telling me it will not be in until June. I have heard that the electric portion will still work and get me some hot water by some and some say it will not.
It was working on electric before I took it to the dealership where they diagnosed it as a bad float. The diesel was not working but the electric was. I have several trips to go on before June and I would like to have hot water.
Thanks in advance

Install a jumper in place of the old switch

I think it would still work on electric. You won't get much hot water or heat on electric. Jumping the sensor wires sounds like a good idea for a temporary fix.

The switch is a safety device for the oil burner to prevent firing when no water is in the tank. You can still use the electric heating.
