It should control the reading/map light over the passenger seat. It's possible that there is an additional switch on the light itself, or the bulb may be burnt out.

Thank you so much Chis !

The light has dial type know on it so that surprised me. I will tear it apart some more and figure out what's going on.

The other one that has me stumped is on the side of the kitchen there is a switch, it has 3 wires into it. It is one the passenger side. to the right of the sink just beside the fold out couch nearest the sink. Would you know what it control(s)?

Is your 2000 Journey a 36G or 36L model?

Thank you so much Chris! My rig is It a WKP36L model.

I think it is a light switch for the slideout compartments that project from the kitchen area but I am not sure at all.

Its most likely the aisle light switch. If thatís the case it operates a kitchen cabinet toe kick light and a small baseboard light in the bedroom.

It is indeed most likely the courtesy/aisle lamp switch (one of two 3-way switches). Here is the Body, 12 Volt Wiring Diagram for your coach. Here are snippets showing the wiring for the front and rear courtesy lamp switches. Winnebago labels all of its 12V wiring every few inches--you can see the labels for the wires on the switches in the diagram and you should be able to match those to the actual labels on the wires to verify that's what the switch does.

Btw, this Wiring Identification Guide will map the wire labels to the functions for each wire.

Just fyi, Winnebago currently uses yellow (YEL) and white (WHT) wires for power and ground, but at the time your coach was built they were using purple (PUR) and green (GRN), so you may need to make that translation when looking at the Wiring Identification Guide.

Thank you Jammin and Chris.

That makes sense courtesy light and the slide out compartment.

I was totally confused with their wiring diagrams. My wires are labelled, every wire is yellow and white so they must of made that change to wiring in 2000 and nary thought to update their drawings. My ground wire was not grounding so that ended up being the problem.

On a positive I did learn to seal my gutter to side fiberglass on the roof of the coach. She is 20 yrs old and there was never any sealant put between there and where the fiberglass roof tucks in there. This forum made me understand how important that is.

Said reading/map light has an off/on switch on top too.
My under-counter night light switch is on the end of the kitchen counter cabinet.
Oddly enough all my coach wiring is yellow and white. My MH was built April 2000.
