Winnebago Delivery Dates

My buddy ordered a new 27n after seeing and liking my 2014. The trouble is, he can't seem to get a delivery date from the dealer. Dealer states that it will be a few months out, but they say they never get exact delivery dates until about a week before it is delivered.

That makes it tough to plan for, and tough to make camping reservations, etc.

Is this true? Winnebago doesn't plan build or production dates in advance? Doesn't make sense...

Thanks in advance for the group wisdom - it never fails...

January 15, 2016 we ordered a Winnebago Adventurer 38Q from Lichtsinn RV in Forrest City, Iowa. I have received weekly updates from my salesman and have been told that the unit will be ready for pick up anytime after April 20, 2016.

Last week our update was to let me know that our unit has been assigned a VIN number. I don't know why your friends dealer can't give him better info then he has been getting.

We are going to make the 800 mile trip to pick it up and tour the factory.

My dealer never gave me weekly updates, but if I called he would check on the status. I ordered our 33C 11/17 and it arrived 2/17 (this week). He originally said it would be about 3 months to build (give or take), and also stipulated that since the completion date was in February, delivery could be weather dependent.

I would do a internet search and find a dealer that has one....... Your friend already knows what he is paying.... Tell the new dealer that......

Congratulations on the new 33C! Let us know what you think of the new Ford six speed transmission.

I really have nothing to compare the 6-speed to and only test drove one F-53 with a 5-speed. But I will report back. The thing I wish it had was a paddle shifter for manual shifting. I found that feature invaluable in certain situations with my Duramax.
