Winnebago Ekko thread

Hi,

Would like to start a thread on the Winnebago Ekko. I am interested in the 24c model.

There are a lot of really cool places I could get in to with this and bo th need a road, the garage is big enough for a pair of electric bikes and folding kayaks. Also could use it all year round. The dual awnings concept is outstanding.

It's really the type of camper I have wished I could bought when 1st starting out, I really have always liked class B's and B+.

Also would save cash in the long run as currently run a 38ft gas class A and a dedicated Jeep Wrangler toad, but would just use this by itself.

I would put winter tires in it also.

Any ok ne else looking at these?

Because of "production issues" Winnebago announced, a couple weeks back, that the 24C would be canceled and all deposits returned. There are plenty of threads discussing this fact and theories abound as to why.

I think they'll likely offer an alternative to the 22A in the future, but for now it's take it or leave it.

I saw it was not on their site. The 22A would problay be better for me. But not sure about the cassette toilet. Can it be dumped in a pit toilet?

Just read somewhere someone mentioned a spare cassette for the toilet.

I have no experience with cassette toilets. If they can be cleanly dumped and hold a reasonable amount of "honey", I'd be fine with one.

I think they are about 5 gallons.

I think no black tank would be a deal breaker for us. By the time I am ready to purchase there may be a model with a black tank available.

James, of the Fit RV YouTube channel has developed an attachment for the cassette tank that lets you connect a standard RV sewer hose for dumping. Seems that would be an improvement.

The Fit RV has just finished a multi-day camping trip in the prototype Ekko. They’ve been posting on Instagram. No doubt a video will be coming out soon. They expect to receive their Ekko in April they said.

I have looked at a couple of their videos on it, they were very good.

We ordered one awhile back for a June delivery. We were unsure about the cassette toilet, but for our purposes, it could be easier in the long run. We had been looking at various class B vans for about a year when this became available. I did put our name on James' list for his dump attachment, which I believe will make it easier.

It seems odd that this device didn't exist before James came up with it. Seems like a no brainer.

When I've watched YouTube videos of RVers I follow when they rent an RV internationally the cassette dump process appears so unpleasant without a dump hose.

We can't wait to hear how you like the Ekko once you can take it on trips.

We have a 38' Class A and we love it. But for some reason the Ekko really speaks to me.

Hi,

I am definitely not in the market for one now, but it's one on our watch list. Anything we get would have to be able tow our jeep and have a dry bath and black tank.

Steph and James of the Fit RV YouTube channel just released their camping video in the Pre-Production Ekko.

Their Ekko will be one of the first off the line and it will replace their Travato.

Have not watched the video yet. Will do so later

I spoke to Lichtinn rv and they said the 24c had prototype issues, but will be available again.

I will be watching the developments closely.
