I have never heard of the overhead bunk option. It must not be very popular. I looked in the 2014 brochure and saw it listed on floor plans, however, there is no description. Here is a photo of our queen size bed. I would think a bunk would be a head knocker. It is pretty cozy without a bunk above you.
There are other Minnie discussions on this web site but I don't think you would find any more answers than you do here. Quite a number of Minnie owners view all of these sites so you may get an answer on the bunk question here.

I can't find anything on the web with a picture of the drop down bunk. I would imagine that it would only be a single size bunk, and in the 1801, you would probably lose the overhead cabinet. It would probably only be suitable for a younger child....now when our sons were younger, I don't think I would have wanted one of them in a bunk above me!!! They were close enough when they were at the far end of the pop up!!
A few threads re Winnebago towables pop up on the travel trailer forum. I would tend to post there first as the Winnebago owners forum has been the popular site for folks with motorhomes. Which makes me ask....is there a rule against duplicate posts???

TowEnvy,
Look at the photo posted by BigBird65; The bunk option (where equipped) happens when you 'fold flat' the OH cabinet. The top of the cabinet (doors and all) folds down toward you and rests on cleats screwed to each side wall. We saw the bunk option on the FunFinder line when we were shopping for a small trailer. We found one dealer who had both FunFinders and Sunnybrook Harmony, no comparison when you can see both side by side. Anyway, the bunk provided some storage for bedsheets, blankets, etc but, being kidless, not useful for us. The bunk would turn the walkaround bed into a 'crawl around' bed; mind your head!

I just went out and looked at mine again. Obviously mine doesn't have that option and I can't see where it would be very practical under any conditions. I believe a comfortable foldup cot placed where the dining table is would be a lot better.
By the way, I removed that heavy dining table that came with my Minnie and replaced it with a much lighter and very sturdy foldup table from Amazon.
The 1st photo shows it in service. 2nd photo shows it stored away.

First I'll make a correction about the table shown above. I didn't get it from Amazon, I got it from Walmart.
Good photos of the bunk. I guess that is the way to make maximun utilization of space. Although it is just the two of us the 1801 Minnie was just too Minnie for us. The 2101 fit perfectly for our camping needs and tow vehicle.
Neil, when do you plan to buy the Minnie Winnie, just curious? I have lots more upgrades to talk about after you get it.
Ken

Hey Folks! Have been trailer shopping since we sold our National Seabreeze and narrowed down to a Lance (1575 or 1685) Minnie Winnie (1801 or 2101 DS) or (gasp) Airstream 19 or 20 ft Flying Cloud.
We have watched the same pink Minnie Winnie 1801fb get drug from RV Show to RV Show here in SW Florida over the last 6-8 months. It is an early 2015 model, and is currently ASKING 40% off MSRP as it is getting older and I guess nobody likes the pink one. Well, my wife likes the pink one. And I don't think it would look too bad with my black GMC Sierra soooo....
Here are my questions for 1801fb owners if you're out there this weekend:
(1) Is that shower big enough to actually use?? I'm 6'2 195 pounds, and fit, and I can get in it but I'm afraid I'd accidentally turn the room into a wet bath splashing around. I know I can go to the camp showers, but I like showering in my own rig.
(2) This unit has lived its life in south Florida but the underneath is very rusty. There's rust on the stabilizers and a pipe that runs across the front underbelly (water?) is completely rusty. Is this inevitable, or an issue with this particular Winnie? Not used to seeing that much rust on something new in Florida.
(3) Do you find the unit well built and weather proof-ish? I guess what I'm asking here is that I noticed there's an opening in front pass through storage that lets you access the back of the water heater but ALSO clearly reveals the two under-the-bed drawers. I'm wondering about leaks/bugs/road dirt/etc getting into the storage and then into my stuff.
(4) Everybody still like their 1801????
Thanks for the feedback!

In order to come up with a line of towables, Winnebago bought Sunnybrook a couple of years ago. The predecessor to the Minnies was the Sunnybrook Harmony line. We had a 2010 Harmony 20 FBS for two years and loved it, traded it in on a 2012 Harmony 21FBS; I think they (and now the Minnies) are the best trailers out there (better than Lance; Airstream, now that's in another league entirely!). I'm 6' and 250# and I can flop around in the rain room quite easily. As far as the rust goes, the frame should not have rust as its painted at the factory. If the rust on the frame is more than superficial, pass. Take a shop rag and see if you can 'rub off' the rust, if so you can deal with it. The stab jacks can easily be wire brushed and painted. The black pipe you see up front is actually the propane pipe; black pipe is not coated, so it does rust, but it should clean up with the rag treatment. As for the compartments, ours is not built exactly like the 18 you are looking at but we have not had any bug or dirt problems. Our 21' tows easy behind our Jeep Grand Cherokee. BTW, we also have a 1998 National Sea Breeze 5th wheel.
Take a look at the Minnie 2101FBS, we like the walkaround queen bed.
Let us know what you decide!
