Winnebago recomendations on restoring decals?

I am finding a lot of opinions on maintaining and restoring body decals, but does Winnebago have any official recommendations from the factory or preferably from their decal supplier? I am not going to spend the money (five grand?) for a full body paint job or go through the hassle and cost of removing and replacing them. But my 12 year old decals are getting faded and have seen nothing over the years other than the yearly overall body wax job.

If you don't want to pay for a total full body paint, maybe consider having the decals removed and just those painted back on. The problem with decals is that they will fade no matter what, and the Winnebago Owner's Manual specifically says not to wax them.

By the way, $5k sounds like a real deal to me for a complete full-body paint... when I looked into it, I was quoted $12k - $15k.

They won't last forever but they will last longer and look better longer if you put 303 Protectant on them periodically.

We had some work done on our 2001 Adventurer at the factory. They were supposed to remove and reseal the passengers side front window. When the technician removed it he tore the decal. Rather than attempt to find a new decal they removed the old one and repainted the area in the form of the old decal.

There's a place near Forest City called Winnebago RV Parts (no relation to the factory). They buy all the obsolete and overstocked parts from the Winnebago factory at the end of the model year. They may have the replacement decals you are looking for. Keep in mind however the decals you'll be getting from them were produced the same year as your motorhome.

We recently ordered a colplete set of replacement decals for our 1998 Winnevbago Brave 29WQ froe Mobility RV (Winnebagoparts.com. They had all but one decal in stock. They'll send you drawings of the motorhome and the part numbers for each decal. You can then pick the ones you want.

The ooriginal price they quoted was higher than we expected to pay. When we discussed it with them they negotiated and gave us a large discount.

They don't provide instructions, and the decals are several years old (almost 17 in our case), so they might be a little fragile. But my wi=fe and I were able to do a good looking job on even the large ones, and the motorhome looks much brighter and newer.

This is a link to written instruction:

This link is to a good "how to" video:

Hope this helps.
