Removing dryer

Just went into back room and smelled electrical wires like they were or had melted. Had 20 min left on dry so I'm assuming it ate itself. Made a horrible screeching sound when drying. Looking at the cabinet it looks like they were built in there. Has anyone remove theirs or had this problem, and might know the fix
Thank you Bob

Bob, check this thread.....

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f101/lou...se-306713.html

It appears we all have the potential same problem possibly ahead of us? The OP of the thread found out that our dryers all may have defective bearings. I have not done anything to ours as of yet, still functioning (knock on wood).

Regards,
W.D.

I am having problems with all of my IR switches on my tv's not working. Has anyone else had a problem with these. I have always had problems with the one on the living room but now all of them are not working. Seems like to me that something in the matrax system is not working.
Thanks for any help

Have you replaced the power supply on your matrix. If you have an older supply they become noisy and mess up the operation.

Hey Bob
No need to remove the doors.
The complete front panel comes off in one piece.
Open the doors and remove all screws inside attaching right side of panel, floor to ceiling.
Remove wood trim on the held on with pin nails, at left side to access the screws holding the left side of the panel.
Remove the mid panel screws from under the dryer shelf.
Remove the 4 screws that hold the heater and cover. The heater coil will pull out, turn and tuck in out of the way.
Remove the molding that is behind the toilet about knee high.
Take your time and maneuver the bottom of the panel out first towards the toilet.

Dryer noise

Thanks Jesse
I removed the doors and the rest of the cabinet including window valance. Was able to remove dryer with help and carried outside. Removed top and right side where motor is. The connector where the plug in wires enter the cabinet was all melted together. Just a mass of plastic, called splendid tech didn't seemed concerned that all the wires melted. In further conversation about the bearing being shot in the motor when he listened to it he agreed. I was concerned something else might be bad in the motor so I ordered a new motor, pig tail and connector. Will be here Thursday. My next question is any advise in putting the dryer vent back on?
Thanks Bob

I had two guys hold the dryer at just the rite angle while I connected the vent hose.
While it is out I would check the air temperature coming out of the dryer on low and high heat to be sure element is working correctly.

I would also change the plumbing vent check valve while the dryer is out.
Be sure to remove the lint screen and shine a flash lite in the bottom to see if you have a collection of lost coins, keys, and ear rings. Very common to build up under there and cause the unit to over heat and blow a thermostat or a heating element.
I would remove all of the dust possible with the vacuum.
Also check your hub bearing for too much ware.

Not a bad idea to inspect the belt for cracking and damage.

I am wondering if there was a loose spade connection causing extreme heat. If so the new harness will fix that. I think you are on the rite track.

I hope you get your dryer all fixed up. I'm dreading the day mine dies.
