Yokohama Tires?

A fellow I know distributes tires to most of the local trucking companies. His people deliver the tires to the companies, and install them at their place of business. I want to replace our 22.5 tires due to age so I asked him what he could do for me.

He can get any tire on the market, but he recommends Yokohama Tires. Now I already have two of them on my steer axle and have no issues with them at all. He also showed me that the Yokohamas are a heavier duty tire than the Michelons on my drive axle. I checked with a couple of the trucking companies he services and sure enough, they are running all Yokohamas.

So what's the price I asked? $330.00 a tire and he will buy back my old Michelons for reuse else where. That sounded pretty good so I ordered four of them to be mounted next week.

Any comments?

Go for it. I'm sure others will chip in with their horror stories and tire brand recommendations. Just keep them properly inflated and avoid nails and other road hazards. Enjoy!!

I had some on a car back in the 70's. I believe I would use a Toyo (aka Yokohama) on my motorhome before I'd use a Goodyear or Firestone. I have Continentals on now.

I've had excellent results with Yokos over the years.
