17 DS - Black Tank is Empty & Monitor is showing 2/3 Full
Any Suggestions?

It may just be something stuck to the side of the tank covering the sensor. Fill the tank with water above the 2/3 sensor level and flush to see if you can clean it off.
Some use fabric softener or water softener in their treatment to keep the slides slick so nothing sticks. I just flush mine after each dump. If the water runs clear I call it good.

Guess the rinse feature is not working.....or paper/sludge is sticking to a probe inside (or if sensor is on the outside....??) or a monitor wire is loose or disconnected. OR... the tank is actually 2/3 full...and like me, forgot when it was last dumped.

If you want to check the idiot lights on the tank, use salt water or add electrolytes to the water you're filling the tank with. From what I understand, the sensors use electric current, and clear water doesn't provide a good path.

Cycle through your level indicator, should clear the 2/3 light.

How would you do this cycling? My panel has 4 buttons (Fresh/Gray/Black/LP) and a light bar that lights up on the light closest to tank level (supposedly)
Are you suggesting to push the Black button over and over, or push each of the buttons in order, over and over?

I must have a different system with only one button. It does sound like a problem with a level sensor.

"specmga1"....Read this post, it has been running for awhile. Apparently, this is an issue with the monitoring system. Some are reporting that thorough flushing and the use of a tank chemical may be the cure.
