1994 Dometic refrigerator

Our new to us 1994 frig would not switch to gas while boondocking for the first time this weekend. After a minute or 2, the check light would go on. Is this me, a dirty outside or a switch I don't know about? The gas was on and working fine on the stove. We didn't have heat, just blowing air, too. At 10,000 ft, it was 40* inside in the morning!

Welcome back.
Have you checked the burners of your fridge and furnace in your MA.
Cob webs can get into the burner tubes and cause the gas to not flow properly plus rust can cause poor grounding for your gas to ignite,
The ceramic element on end of igniter may have a carbon build up that has to be cleaned with soft cloth and screw connections for tubes and tubes should be cleaned, this link I gave you will have information for cleaning these items.
On the gas line into the fridge burner there is a valve that needs to be open and you need good house batteries for a good 12v to operate your controls for both items.

I ask because some such propane appliances get very balky at elevations above five or six thousand feet, and others won't work at all. There are retrofits available that can solve such problems if that's what it turns out to be.

Hi HomeAway,
Lack of maintenance + the altitude can cause the problem you are having with the furnace and refer. The furnace especially needs annual maintenance because it drinks propane like water going over Niagara Falls.
