2 inch tow bar into 2 1/2 receiver

Working on switching our 2 inch. tow bar into a 2 1/2 receiver. Roadmaster says they have 2 to 2 1/2 adaptor but it has a 4 inch. rise or lower connection. Want to just come out straight from 2 1/2 receiver to 2 tow bar.

Hmm I'm surprised that RoadMaster doesn't have a straight one. Check with eTrailer's website next.
My hitch is rated for 15,000#'s but it's still a 2" shank.

Any good hardware store will have a 2 to 2 1/2 inch sleeve for a tow setup. Not very expensive.

I have seen the adapter at wal mart. Atwood, and tractor supply company. It is a sleeve that goes in and reduces from 2 1/2. To 2. I ordered an extension from amazon you could look on that site.

In addition, any local trailer/hitch shop will have a straight adapter.

2 1/2 to 2 inch sleeve and Immobilizer

I would just use a 2 1/2 to 2 inch sleeve that is available at Walmart and many other places. I have this sleeve and there is double the slop in the hitch because of the two connections.

Blue Ox makes an Immobilizer that will take the slop out of the 2 1/2 to 2 inch receiver and the tow bar. "Blue Ox BX88312 Immobilizer III for Hitch Receiver". Amazon and other places have it if you find you have slop and choose to purchase one. I haven't tried it yet so I can't give it a positive endorsement, only that it is available. I just ordered one and will be installing it to tighten up the connection. It will also provide a bolted connection in addition to the locking pin for your tow bar.
