2 Oasis questions

I have discovered a leak on the top fitting on the Oasis unit.

Anybody done this repair? It this something I can purchase a part and replace? Special method to remove and replace pipe goop and much to tighten.

Summer Loop operation should it be running all the time? The green light is lit on the panel?

Burner off due to leak. Oasis has been shut down. Sounds like it is running.

Help on the leak!

Make sure the summer loop switch is off. The switch is located on top of the silver box with the led indicator lights. Not sure which fitting you are referring to when talking about a leak but you can always try clamping off the hose and removed clean the fitting and then use thread sealant. If it is a leak at the hose connection replace the hose clamp with a screw hose clamp that can be tighten down.

I had a leak on our Oasis by the radiator cap. The male fitting where the hose attaches was cracked. After trying to repair I had to have tank replaced with a new coolant tank. If yours is leaking into the Oasis unit, you will want to fix it sooner rather than later. Another story. The Oasis unit had to be removed to work on it. Send me a pm if you need more info.

I will check in the morning. I thought that switch on the top of the panel was to force the other 2 pumps to run.

Fortunately it is not on the radiator cap on the tank but on the fitting that screws into the top of the Oasis unit. The hose then attaches to the fitting. iTR Canada is sending 2 fittings for $20 each. Should have it in a few days. When the Oasis was turned on it was squirting out the crack in the fitting.

I quest that is why you run all the systems before heading out.

Glad it was something minor for you to fix.

Here are the 2 items. I will replace both. Main lower body has the leak along a crack.

On my Oasis unit the switch will turn on the summer loop pump even if the power button is off on the burner unit as well as the AC I and AC II off. I drained and refilled my Oasis and according to ITR instruction the Summer loop pump is activated by that switch and used to circulate fluid and purge any air in the system. This is done with the power off and you definitely hear the pump run. Under normal usage that switch needs to be off otherwise the summer loop run continuously regardless any call for heat or hot water. Many people have suggested this to be a cause of so many summer loop pump failures.?? ITR manual say to only use this switch to temporarily circulate and purge the unit when filling the unit with transfer fluid. But as many have suggested it can be used as short term fix for a pump failure and no hot water.

I checked today and the summer loop was off? I flipped the switch and the other 2 pumps came on.Flipped switch on top and the 2 other pumps went off and summer loop stayed off.

Is there some other controls that would turn the summer loop on when burner off, both electric heaters are off and Oasis powered with the button on the front of the unit?

Sorry, I guess I'm not much help. My Oasis Unit is an NE-S and may be wired differently. ITR can be very helpful when you call with questions. You might try talking to Randy he has a lot of trouble shooting tips.

My summer loop pump was running all the time, even in storage with elements & Burner off. I called ITR, trouble shot it on the phone. My Aquastat was bad, easy fix. They told me summer pump should not run with fluid below 120f or 140f (I forget which).

Yes, Easy job. Call ITR, they’ll walk you through trouble shooting it. It is just a switch, hot/cold = closed/open. Test it first.
