2000 DSDP third brake light lense?

Anyone know where I can get a replacement lense for the third brake light on the 2000 Dutch Star? Picture of the lense

It's a pretty simple light, so I can't image it would be hard to find in a junkyard full of late 90's vehicles.

Google "third brake light replacement" and all sorts of stuff will come up. Even JC Whitney offers several.

You should be able to find something.

There are many RV salvage yards around the country as I have the same problem. FYI if you have ever had the light apart the bulb bracket can go back in two ways. One way the bulbs are to close to the lens, the other way they set further in towards metal reflector and are further from the lens. Guess how I found that out!!

I've replaced the bulbs with LEDs, so heat/melting shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Here's a pic of my replacement. I used a scrap piece of TRAX decking to build the shim so the light would be level and not pointing upwards.

I replaced mine with a Peterson brand LED. Fits in a rubber grommet. You have to cut the hole in the rear cap to match the grommet size.

Hi Bucky Bounder,
We went to Spoilerlights.com to find the LED third brake light replacement for our 2002 DSDP, perfect fitment and cost $58 shipped to our home. They have a very comprehensive list of vehicle choices to choose from. Hope this may help.

Thanks. I don't see Newmar on there list. Do you know what make and model they used to find your light?

Good morning Bucky Bounder,
On Spoilers.com, you can find the selection process by using the pull down menus, choose "by type", and that will let you go to the RV third brake lights where you are able to enter the type of coach you drive. They have a section for basic third brake lights as well. Hope you have luck!
