2000 Dutch Star Kwikee step door switch

Ok, who can give me advice on replacing this switch? I know the switch just pops out of the door frame but where are the ends of the wires? Please don't tell me I have to remove the entire outer door frame!?!? Either the switch is bad or the grounded end of the wire is bad. Either way I think I have to find the ends of the wires. Thanks.

The switch should be removed from the hole its placed in and the wire leads would be internally of door frame with wire connectors possibly the twist type.
Wiring for the ones stuck to screens were hidden behind the door frame on mine than wired down through the floor to below one to staire control and the other to a frame ground under the chassis, this ground location was always becoming corroded or dirty and needed to be checked yearly.
A small green wire out of controller was connected to a mounting screw for controller and the heavier green wire from controller went to a chassis frame connection that was permanently sealed to frame.
The smaller grounds were the ones that need to be checked periodically.
Your switch is probably OK its the grounds that are the problem.
This link is from the Tech Information link below.
If you have the 42 style step that's in the same link.

Thanks. It's a 32 series step. It uses the 3/4" hole size magnetic switch. I peeled some insulation back on the switch wires and it tested fine. I can't find the grounded end of the switch wire though. Guessing it's under the door frame. :-(

The ground end will be under coach attached to the chassis framing like a square D piece of tube, mine was screw into it and corroded and loose near the back side of stairs, be careful do not have your body under stair space will do damage to your body if under stair and decides to operate.

Well no luck. The grounded end of the switch has to be buried somewhere behind the door frame. The only grounds underneath that are visible are for wires that come directly out of the control module.

Try running a new ground wire it doesn't matter where the ground is.
My door switch was acting up on or 05 KSDP this year and I had to give it a sharp rap with a screw driver handle to get it to work. Ordered a new switch and shortly after it started working just fine. Another spare part to carry along.

I think that's going to be my only option. Just a pain to fish it thru the door frame and wall to get it to the chassis. Probably try grounding it to the door frame itself, hopefully that'll work. Thanks.
